Who we are
Kinokatzen Productions Inc., founded by filmmaker Darryl LeBlanc, is the creative force driving Cinema Cats TV, a unique streaming platform that highlights Canadian content. LeBlanc, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University and developed graphic design skills at George Brown College, has built Kinokatzen Productions into a versatile production entity. The company has worked on various projects for major organizations such as CBC, TellTale Productions, and RPM. In addition, Kinokatzen teamed up with Purpledoor Productions to contribute to the Trailer Park Boys Swearnet channel, further diversifying its portfolio.
Kinokatzen Productions is not just a production company; it is also the powerhouse behind Cinema Cats TV, the flagship streaming service showcasing Canadian-made films, shorts, documentaries, and TV shows. Operating on an ad-supported model, Cinema Cats TV provides free access to content, generating revenue through advertisements. The platform focuses on promoting independent Canadian filmmakers, giving them a space to share their work with a broader audience. With exclusive original content like Sweet Science, Get Pucked, and King and Pawn Season 3, Cinema Cats TV builds a library that supports and elevates homegrown talent.
Beyond its streaming service, Kinokatzen Productions continues to grow as a production entity. The company actively invests in acquiring new content and securing licensing deals to expand Cinema Cats TV's catalogue. Additionally, through strategic marketing initiatives like influencer collaborations and targeted promotions, Cinema Cats TV is establishing a stronger foothold in the Canadian streaming market. To boost its expansion and broaden its audience, Kinokatzen has established partnerships with multiple distribution companies, thereby extending its broadcasting rights to encompass more than 6,000 films, series, and documentaries.
In essence, Kinokatzen Productions and Cinema Cats TV are committed to more than just providing entertainment. They serve as vital supporters of Canadian filmmakers, amplifying local stories and giving Canadian talent the exposure it deserves in the digital entertainment space. By engaging with Cinema Cats TV, viewers are not just entertained—they become part of a movement that supports and celebrates the Canadian film industry.
